Various oppressed and suppressed communities have come together in support to the farmers protesting against the central government’s infamous Farm Laws. Transgender community in Karnataka is being part of this historic protest by cooking food for the farmers who are arriving from across the state to participate in the Rally in Bangalore.

Veena speaking to Gauri Lankesh News and NaanuGauri explained that the transgender community is standing together against the oppression of farmers by the Narendra Modi led BJP government on the center. Calling the Republic Day as “People’s Day,” Veena noted, “this government is trying to stamp down the farmers- those who work hard to provide us food. We, the gender, sexual and sexuality minority communities are here to tell the government to stop such attacks on its own people.”

The farmers arriving from the districts in their vehicles and tractors will be entering the city from four directions and will be assembling at five points around the city. Farmers from Kodagu will join farmers in Mysuru, Mandya, Ramanagara, and enter the city via Mysore road and march till Sangolli Rayanna Railway station. Vehicles coming from Chikkaballapura and Devanahalli districts will be assembling at Nandi Upahar hotel and start marching towards the city via Bellary road. Those arriving from Shivamogga, Hasan, Bellary, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Vijayapura via Tumkur road will congregate at nice road junction and march into the city. Vehicles from Kolar district will be assembling at the Hoskote toll junction and start marching into the city from this point.
