As Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was going towards Ambala on Tuesday to campaign for the BJP government, he was met with many farmer protestors who were raising black flags to show their disapproval and anger towards the government.
The farmers had gathered around to block Khattars way to the city. They were seen waving black flags at his convoy. After trying to make way through the crowd by slowing down, the convoy eventually gave up and had to take a U-turn.
The farmers continued to raise slogans against the government, saying they would continue protests till the Farm Laws are repealed.
Khattar was on his way to Ambala in order to campaign for the BJP candidates in the election to the Municipal Corporation.
This is not the first time farmers have shown black flags to Ministers. On December 1st, a group of farmers in Ambala was showing black flags to Union Minister Rattan Lal Kataria, who is also the MP from Ambala.
1. BJP-Making Enemies
The widespread anger against the BJP government has been due to the hastily passed Farm Bills that the government refuses to repeal.
Instead, they have been insisting that the farmers are being misled by opposition parties, and also that only some farmers are against the bills. PM Modi has constantly emphasized this fact and intends to convince farmers of his view through his Mann Ki Baat airing on December 27th.

So far, the government has conducted a series of ‘negotiations’, release of booklets and a few open letters- to no avail.
The Government has also suggested various changes that they can make to the act, but the farmers will settle for nothing less than the removal of the anti-farmer acts that seem to be of more benefit to corporates.
