All India Legal Fraternity for Farmers (AILFF) has given a call for Dharana (Protest) in front of the Delhi police head quarters on February 8, 2021. Several lawyers across the country have come together to take up cases of the farmers and journalists who have been illegally arrested by the Delhi police. Several farmers and journalists were accused of plotting and/or taking part in the violence at the Red Fort on January 26, 2021.

Despite the best efforts made by the legal fraternity, the AILFF noted in their statement that the atrocities and arbitrary actions of Delhi Police are in full swing. Innocent persons/farmers are being implicated in false cases and hundreds of people are being detained in illegal custody without following any procedure established by law and without following the guidelines of the Apex Court.

Whoever comes in support of farmers are being indicted in false cases even the international personalities are not spared which maligns the democratic image of our country.

AILFF also said that the, Delhi Police and the Central government are sending very wrong message to the international media by the above said illegal and arbitrary actions. Therefore it has become necessary that the legal fraternity should come out openly in support of farmers.
