Bollywood actor Asif Basra committed suicide on Thursday in McLodganj in Dharamshala. He was found hanging in a private complex in Dharamshala.
The police team also reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. Police have started investigating the matter as of now.
Reports say that actor Asif Basra had been living in a rented house in McLeodganj for the last 5 years.
Asif Basra was known for his roles as a character actor in various Bollywood films and TV. He has also acted in the American comedy film Outsourced.
He has acted in many critically acclaimed films like Black Friday and Rahul Dholakia’s Parzania.
He appeared in Michael O. Sajbeland’s One Night with the King with veteran actors like Omar Sharif and Peter O’Toole.
Basra was also known for his theatrical performances from playing five characters in Feroz Abbas Khan’s production of Mahatma v/s Gandhi, a play that is considered one of the most successful in Indian theatre. Other performances include a child with spina bifida in Main Bhi Superman and Horatio in Hamlet.
