A video of BJP MLA from Teradala, Siddu Savadi has emerged where he is seen charging at a woman while she is entering the building. Siddu Savadi and his supporters are seen assaulting the woman and dragging her from the stairs. All this happens in police presence and in delayed response police try to take her from the clutches of the crowd who are pushing her aggressively.
This brutal attack occurred in Karnataka’s Bagalkot district on November 9 where elections were held for the position of President and Vice President of the Mahalingapura Municipal Council. Councillor Savitha Hurakadli had come to vote for the Congress candidate and Siddu Savadi pushed her to stop her from voting for the Congress candidate.
Police has also not filed any FIR against the BJP MLA.
In the video, Siddu Savadi is seen pushing her and aggressively assaulting her along with his supporters.
MLA Siddu Savadi issued a statement to the press and outright denied his involvement in the case despite the video showing otherwise. “I respect all women and I would never behave in such a way with any woman. This is being done to tarnish my reputation. The entire thing is fabricated. Why should I apologise when I have not done anything wrong?” Siddu Savadi claimed.
It’s been three days since the incident happened and neither the police has filed any FIR, not the opposition has taken any step to demand accountability from the Karnataka government.
