Leader of Tamil Nadu’s Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and MP from Chidambaram constituency Thol. Thirumavalavan has joined the protesting farmers at Delhi’s Tikri border. For the last 79 days, farmers have been protesting at the Delhi border against three controversial farm laws enacted by the Central Government.

Thirumavalavan Several leaders, including Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, National Conference Member Farooq Abdullah, have come to open support of the Farmers’ Movement not only in Parliament but also in their respective states.

Thol. Thirumavalavan is a politician and Tamil activist, 15th Lok Sabha Member of Parliament and the present President of the Tamil Nadu State Party of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi.
As a Dalit leader, he rose to prominence in the 1990s and entered politics formally in 1999. His political agenda focuses on bringing an end to the Dalits’ caste-based oppression, which he believes can best be done by reviving and reorienting. He also voiced support for nationalist Tamil parties and organizations elsewhere.
