Police Crack Down on The Peaceful Protests By The Farmers in Karnataka

The farmers marching towards Bangalore have been stopped by the police and the peaceful marches have been disrupted.

Farmers from across the state of Karnataka have begun marching from their districts towards Bangalore to be part of the Kisan Republic Day parade. Not surprisingly the farmers marching towards Bangalore have been stopped by the police and the peaceful marches have been disrupted. This has not deterred the spirits of protesting farmers. They are protesting against this crackdown by the police at Hunsur, Tumakur, Belagavi, Madikeri and Chikkaballapura. These images and videos of confrontations with the police and of the backlash by the farmers, tell us that the Yeddyurappa led state government is all ready to silence the protesting farmers.

Tumkur

Chikkaballapur

The police in Chintamani Taluk of Chikkaballapur meeting with the farmers regarding the tractor parade. The police have not given the permission for the tractor rally.

Farmers arriving in tractors and their vehicles will be congregating in four corners of the city at 9 am tomorrow and start marching into the city to join farmers and various unions in Bangalore at the city railway station. This massive protest is being organised under the banner of Sanyukta Horata, in solidarity with the farmers protesting against the three anti-farmer reforms brought in by the Narendra Modi led central government.
