In Photos: Cyclone Nivar wreaks havoc in Tamil Nadu

 

The much anticipated and disastrous Cyclone Nivar wreaked havoc in Tamil Nadu at nighttime from November 25th to 26th. It made landfall in Puducherry at 11:30 pm on Wednesday night and lasted till 2:30 am on Thursday. The affect of it was felt across the country, especially in coastal regions, with heavy rainfalls. It had led to great damage in Tamil Nadu, especially Chennai; over 1,000 trees were uprooted and in agriculture and other sectors CM Narayanasamy announced a tentative Rs 400 crore loss and that they will seek Rs 50 crore as interim relief.
