Officials of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly have denied her permission to appear in her second-year LLM exams due to “low attendance”.
The university said that the student did not fulfill the mandatory rule of 75% attendance. It asked her to produce a court order to appear for the examination that will start on Tuesday.
The woman and three others are lodged in a Shahjahanpur jail for allegedly blackmailing and demanding Rs 5 crore from Chinmayanand. The former Bharatiya Janata Party leader has also been lodged in the same jail since October 20.
This is happening despite the local CJM court granting her permission to appear for her exams and instructing the jail superintendent to send the woman to Bareilly in police custody.
In September, after the 23-year-old, who studied in a law college in Shahjahanpur, accused the BJP leader of sexual harassment in a video clip, his lawyers had filed a case of extortion and threat against unidentified persons.
