Surjewala tweeted- The insidious game of intimidation & machinations of Modi-Yeddyurappa duo being executed by a puppet CBI by raiding @DKShivakumar won’t deter us. CBI should be unearthing the layers of corruption in Yeddyurappa Govt. But, ‘Raid Raj’ is their only ‘Machiavellian Move’ ! Let Modi & Yeddyurappa Govts & BJP’s frontal organizations i.e CBI-ED-Income Tax know that Congress workers & leaders will not be cowed down nor bow down before such devious attempts. Our resolve to fight for people & expose BJP’s maladministration only becomes stronger.

Party senior leader Digvijay Singh also criticised the move and tweeted that CBI raids on DK Shivakumar and his brother is nothing but targeting powerful regional state leaders is a part of BJP/RSS combine strategy. Shivakumar is made of sterner stuff. He would prove his innocence” he said.

Jairam Ramesh also said, “ CBI had become Central Bureau of Intimidation”. Meanwhile Siddaramaiah in his series of tweets, CBI raid is a common election phenomenon of the BJP. Afraid of the loss in upcoming by-polls BJP had resorted to politics of vendetta. While the party said CBI had turned to BJP’s investigating agency while Enforcement Directorate had reduced to the BJP Election Morcha unit. The BJP had been destroying the democratic setup built by the invaluable contribution of freedom fighters’ it stated
