BJP Government should stop attempting to divide farmers even at this stage
Samyukt Kisan Morcha condemns the continued attempts by BJP Government led by Mr. Narendra Modi, to divide protesting farmers by not re-initiating formal dialogue and not responding formally to the letter sent by SKM reminding the government about the pending demands. Farm unions stand united in their demands to the Government and SKM is awaiting formal communication with all required details from the Government.
Indian Government: No Information About Deaths; Hence, No Question of Financial Assistance
SKM condemns the response of the Government of India in the Parliament stating that it has no information about deaths in the farmers’ movement and therefore, the question of financial assistance does not arise! SKM reiterates its demand for compensation and rehabilitation of the kin of more than 689 martyrs in the ongoing agitation.
The Government of India continues to insult the huge sacrifices being made by protesting farmers by saying that it has no record of deaths of any protesting farmers. SKM condemns the response of the Government of India in the Parliament where Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar in a written reply said that the government has no information about deaths in the farmers’ movement and therefore, the question of financial assistance does not arise! SKM reiterates its demand for compensation and rehabilitation of the kin of more than 689 martyrs in the ongoing agitation.
SKM appeals to farmers and media not to believe falsehoods being spread about protests winding down
Samyukt Kisan Morcha also clarifies strongly that the morcha sites around Delhi are continuing as before, and in fact, more tractor-trolleys are reaching the protest sites. SKM appeals to all farmers and media representatives not to believe falsehoods being spread about the protests being wound up and people vacating the morchas. It is also not correct to say that there is a fissure amongst the unions of SKM.
There is no meeting that has happened between Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar and farm union leaders of the state. In the Haryana SKM meeting, it was reiterated that the agitation will continue until the pending demands are met by the government and until formal communication is received regarding the same. Haryana farmers’ organizations will join the SKM meeting on 4th of December like other constituents and collective stock-taking will take place on that day.
