More than 90% of the tents and huts belonging to the farmers and agricultural labourers camping at the Shahjahanpur-Kheda border were damaged last night due to heavy rain and storm.

For the past six months, Indian farmers and agricultural labourers have been protesting against the three contentious farm laws brought by the BJP led central government to give an upper hand to the corporates in the agriculture market.

The power connection to the camp has also been disturbed by it. The storm also left three people at the site injured and of them has been sent to a hospital. Later on, the protestors who had taken shelter during the storm in nearby Dhabas and other concrete structures spent the night out in the open on their cots.

The storm also caused harm to the makeshift kitchens and langars and other essential services operating at the protesting site have received damage on a large scale.

Samyukta Kisan Morcha has requested the social welfare organizations and the general public to provide all possible help at the Shahjahanpur border so that the protestors who are protesting there do not face any problem

The water supply to the protest site is through a RO plant available at the site that has stopped working as there is no power connection. This has caused an acute shortage of clean drinking water for the people protesting there.

Farmers also need tents, ropes, towels, bamboos and water etc. are required at the site immediately.

Prime Minister misleading farmers in his Man ki Baat: Why the silence on MSP on all crops and to all farmers?

During the Man ki Baat episode on May 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said just a few words about farmers and agriculture and remained silent on the question of the three agricultural laws and the guarantee of a proper MSP to all farmers on all crops.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha has slammed PM Modi and government representatives who are more concerned about making media headlines. They talk about one or two crops symbolically, citing them historically, but in real terms, they do not talk about all the crops and all the farmers.

Farmers and agricultural labourer groups have said multiple times that all three agricultural laws are against them and the common people of the whole country and will affect the farmers of the entire country. SKM has appealed to the government that under the leadership of Samyukta Kisan Morcha, the demands of the farmers of the country should be considered and accepted.

Boxer Sweety Boora dedicates Asian Championship medal to farmers

Indian boxer Sweety Boora has recently won a bronze medal at the Asian Championships. She has announced that the medal is dedicated to the farmers and is a tribute to the martyred farmers.  At the same time, she has appealed to the Prime Minister that as soon as possible, the government should talk to the protestors and accept their demands.

Farmers from Haryana continue to join protest sites

Meanwhile, farmers and agricultural labourers continue to reach the borders of Delhi to join the ongoing protests. On May 30, a big batch of farmers from Rohtak reached the Tikri border under the leadership of the All India Kisan Sabha.  Similarly, hundreds of other protestors reached the dharna on the Singhu border as well.
