Palwal Farmers have Resolved to Not Go Back

"How do we put our faith on a PM to protect our country who can’t even protect the Lal Qila?"

Palwal, in Haryana, has been a site of protesting farmers since November 26, but it has recently seen thousands of farmers coming to the district from UP, Rajasthan, Gujarat to join the farmers at Palwal. Palwal hasn’t received the attention it should. Speaking to Gauri Lankesh News, a farmer expresses his concerns about the Prime Minister and Godi Media. The transcription of the farmer’s comments are below:

The farmer says, “We have been protesting at Palwal-Faridabad Districts of Haryana. These laws have been imposed on us, our 66-day long protest will go on until the laws are rolled back. The Godi Media is not showing the atrocities on farmers, and how do we put our faith on a PM to protect our country who can’t even protect the Lal Qila? Farmers have also not been provided anythng in the Budget, and this shows where his interests lie.”

When asked about how would you respond to people saying that these protests have been hijacked by political parties, the farmer stated “No party has got any relation to this. There are only farmers. Anybody from any party can come in these protests, but there will be flags of only farmers.”
