Reliance foundation head and executive director of Reliance Industries Nita Ambani will soon be teaching Women Studies.
Banaras Hindu University’s Women studies and Development center has sent her a proposal to be the visiting professor at the university. She had given her verbal consent to the proposal.
BHU’s Social science dept had given the proposal on 12th March. In the proposal, she is requested to join the university to improve the living standard of women from Banaras and the Poorvanchal region.
Neeta Ambani is the wife of Mukesh Ambani, the owner of Reliance Industries. She has done B.Com from Mumbai University and in 2014 was made the executive director of Reliance Industries. She started the Reliance Foundation year 2010.
According to the University, they have proposed Nita Ambani a visiting professor for Women’s studies because she is a Women entrepreneur.
According to the proposal Reliance foundation will encourage women entrepreneurs in Eastern UP. In addition to giving lectures, women will also be given training.
Women’s center’s coordinator Prof. Nidhi Sharma says- “According to the New Education Policy, linking students to employment is also an objective of educational institutions, which can be achieved through Nita Ambani’s business experiences.”

On International Women’s Day, Nita Ambani had started an internet media platform called “Her Circle” to empower women.
Prof. Kaushal Mishra, Dean of Social Sciences Dept. added that Nita Ambani was invited to join the dept as visiting professor so that BHU researchers could also benefit from her work and experience.
