The BJP Karnataka twitter handle stated- There are reports in media about Asok Gasti´s ill health. He is still getting treatment in the hospital and the party unit prays for his rebirth.
Ashok Gasti is admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru after he was tested positive for COVID-19 a fortnight ago. Hailing from Raichur district in Karnataka, Gasti is a lawyer by profession and belongs to the Savita (Barber) community.
He took oath as a member of the upper house very recently but unfortunate that he could not participate in his first-ever parliamentary session as its member. He had served as chairman of the Backward Class Commission. At a time when political heavyweights were lobbying for getting nominated to the Rajya Sabha, the party recognizing the grass-root level worker and loyalist have elected him to the upper house.
