Chief Minister Yeddyurappa said, “It is very sad to hear the news that senior freedom fighter, Gandhian, journalist, social worker, and the voice of the people, the centenarian H S Doreswamy is no more. May his soul rest in peace and God give strength to his family to overcome this pain.”

H S Doreswamy has always been the guiding inspiration irrespective of his old age. Age has never been a hindrance to centenarian freedom fights who still is actively involved in civic activism and fighting for the rights of the poor. Doreswamy who has been credited as the “conscience of the state” is a vocal critic and has voiced against every dispensation that is dictatorial in nature including the present regime. Undeterred by the smear campaign against him the centenarian aspires to launch a campaign for ensuring civic rights.
