Deep Sidhu a chief accused in the violence that unfurled at the Red Fort in Delhi on January 26, 2021 is reportedly arrested by the Delhi Police. Sidhu was found to be one who climbed up the Red Fort and hoisted the ‘Nishan Saheb’ a religious flag of the Sikh Community. He was part of the peaceful tractor rally by the farmers who did not want to abide by the pre- decided route for the rally. As soon as the rally reached the Red Fort, there was a commotion and the media across the country captured Deep Sidhu and few miscreants with him climbing up the monument and hoisting the ‘Nishan Saheb’ and fleeing from the site.

As Gauri Lankesh News reported earlier, the Delhi police personnel who were deployed in large numbers around the Red Fort were mere spectators of this act of Sidhu and others. Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) has noted that Sidhu could be seen in several pictures with the senior leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). They further suspect that he was a central government planted agent to discredit the ongoing farmers’ movement. According the ANI report Deep Sidhu has been arrested by the Delhi police. Several FIRs were registered against him ever since the Red Fort incident. He was allegedly missing till date.
According to the media reports he has been sending his videos complaining about the leadership of the farmers movement to his friend in California. This friend was uploading these videos on his Facebook.
