After Rahul Gandhi, now actor Ramya calls Hindutva a political tool

Hinduism about inclusivity and love for all. Hindutva is the opposite. True Hindus would know the difference”. Actor Ramya has tweeted.

Ramya

Even before the controversy over the remarks of Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi on Hinduism and Hindutva dies down, Actor turned politician, Ramya has made similar remarks in her instagram post.

A few days ago, Rahul Gandhi had made this remark during his video conference while addressing the party workers of Wardha, Maharashtra, where he was talking about the difference between Hinduism and Hindutva.

According to him, Hinduism does not promote killing while Hindutva does.

Adding further, he had wondered how Hinduism and Hindutva are the same thing?  If so then why don’t they have the same name. Why do they have a different name? They are obviously different things”, he said.

He said that while Hinduism is about inclusiveness, Hindutva is about killing people. “ There is no Hindu scripture which propagates killing of innocent people”, he declared.

Interestingly, the comment of Rahul Gandhi had come a day after the release of a book by Congress leader Salman Khurshid ( Sunrise over Ayodhya) which has compared Hindutva to terrorist outfits, Boko Haram and ISIS.

Taking the debate further which is only going to attract the anger of pro-Hindu outfits and the BJP, Ramya too has made similar remarks on Hindutva and Hinduism.

Though keeping herself away from active politics for the last several years, Ramya however has been commenting occasionally on various issues using her social media account.

According to her, Hinduism means taking people along and it propagates inclusiveness while Hindu is right opposite of it.

“ Hinduism and Hindutva are not the same thing. Hinduism is not political, Hindutva is. Hinduism about inclusivity and love for all. Hindutva is the opposite. True Hindus would know the difference”.

She said in her post.

The statement of Rahul Gandhi did not go well among the BJP leaders, instantly started raising objections and expressed their anger.

BJP accused the Congress and Gandhi family of carrying hate for Hinduism. It said that many leaders such as Manishankar Aiyar, Digvijay Singh have been talking ill about Hinduism. It will be no surprise if the BJP leaders also start criticizing Ramya for her remarks.
