Ravi Kishan, Bhojpuri Actor and BJP MP from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh had to face the ire of farmers in Roop Nagar district of Punjab. Kishan had come for the shooting of an ad film at the Dhangrali village in the Morinda area in Room Nagar.

The villagers who were protesting against the three farm laws did not let the shooting to happen and made Ravi Kishan and the film unit to leave the village.

It was around 10 am when preparations for the shooting of the movie were being made at the house of a sarpanch of the village. The youth of the village got information about it and they reached the spot and started raising slogans in favour of farmers’ agitation.

The villagers asked the team if they have the permission to shoot in the village and who gave them the permission. They were told that its the village head Gurpreet Singh had given them the permission. Villagers then started sloganeering at the house of village head. Gurpreet Singh then clarified to the villagers that he did not know that the film makers are from BJP and they did not shoot in the village but in the Khairpur area.

The youth said that from every village at least one member is at the Delhi borders and the BJP led central government is defaming them as anti-national and Khalistani. The also added that they would not allow any politician to enter their village till the demands of farmers were accepted. Soon, a police party led by local SHO Baljinder Kaur reached the spot.

The SHO said she received a security programme of Ravi Kishan in the morning. On reaching the spot, however, it was noticed that he was there for the shooting of a film. When documents pertaining to permission for shooting were asked from the director, he could not produce it and they were asked to leave, the SHO added.
