The farmers’ movement would go on for other eight months: Tikait in Belagavi

Tikait also said that the movement would gain a new momentum as soon as the Punjab and Haryana farmers return from harvesting their wheat. The farmers shall return after May 10, noted the farmer leader.

Rakesh Tikait, a spokesperson of Bharat Kisan Union (BKU) and a farmer leader addressed Mahapanchayat at Belagavi on March 31, 2021. Speaking at this massive gathering of farmers and workers Tikait reportedly noted that the farmers’ movement would go on for next eight months. The ongoing movement is protesting against the three farm laws brought in by the Narendra Modi government and is demanding for legalisation of Minimum Support Price. Tikait said, since the protesting against these laws is the right of every farmer and that farmers are also protesting to protect their lands.
