India’s former agriculture minister and farmer leader Chaudhary Ajit Singh today passed away. Samyukta Kisan Morcha pays heartfelt tribute to Chaudhary Ajit Singh. Ajit Singh had always kept the pain of the farmers in mainstream politics and forefront of every stage. Taking forward the views of his father and former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, Ajit Singh openly supported this farmers movement.

Opposition and condemnation of suspending Twitter and Facebook accounts related to farmers movement

The social media accounts that are covering the current farmer movement are constantly under attack by the government. Earlier, the Facebook and Instagram pages of Kisan Ekta Morcha were temporarily suspended. After this, other independent pages related to the movement were also suspended. The government also spread a one-sided agenda by banning the Internet at protest sites. Yesterday the Twitter handle Amaan Bali was suspended under the request of the Government of India. This account has been sharing all the information related to the farmers movement, including the information of the martyrs in the protest. This account is also helping people related to the corona pandemic.

Facebook account of Ravi Singh, the CEO of Khalsa Aid, which has been continuously helping at the farmers movement and helping the common citizens in the Corona pandemic, has also been suspended. We condemn and oppose the government’s attack on independent journalism and social workers and demand that these accounts should be re-activated immediately.

After harvesting, farmers begin to return to Delhi protest sites

As the harvesting season is going to end, farmers have started to return to the Delhi protest sites. Today, farmers have arrived in large numbers in their tractor trollies on the Singhu border. In the coming days, more farmers will be joining the Delhi borders so that the pressure can be built on the government.
