Farmers protesting at the borders of Delhi are demanding the withdrawal of the 3 farm laws being pushed in by the Union Government and have called for a huge tractor rally on January 26th.
In preparation for the same, the Farmers’ Union has called for a Tractor Rally on 7th January (Tomorrow). It is expected that around 85000-150000 tractors from Punjab and Haryana are expected to join in the rally tomorrow.
In addition to the tractors already parked around Delhi at Singhu, Tikri and Gazipur borders, many more tractors are expected to join in from the neighbouring states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab informed Farmers’ Union Leader Rajinder Singh to our on-ground reporters. “We reached the here (Tikri and other borders of Delhi) on November 27th. The government used all tricks in the book to stop us including digging up huge potholes, put up barricades and wound up thorn-wires all over so that we would not match ahead. Despite these struggles we have reached till here. Even tomorrow we will have our Tractor rally peacefully. But, if the government puts in barricades to stop us, we will push over and break the barricades. This would be a small demonstration of the strength and grit of Farmers. The government must ensure that no problems are created tomorrow. They must not prevent us. We will not let PM Modi hoist the flag in the Red Fort on January 26th. This time around, it will be the farmers who will hoist their flag at the Red Fort” he said.
On the morning of January 7th at around 9.00 AM, the Tractor Rally will happen at all the borders of Delhi and it is expected that around 400 kms will be covered by the tractor rally.
